In Loving Memory ~
It is with sadness that we share the passing of Teresa Ann Delich Adair, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to many. Teresa passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at her home in Rossland, BC.
Teresa was born in Rossland to Mike and Catherine Delich, the middle of five children. She was raised a true Rossland girl, with most of her time outside, especially on the ski hill. As a teenager, her ski career took off, and she raced for the Red Mountain Racers and the Canadian National team, and in 1971 won the Canadian National Ski Championships Pontiac Cup.
Teresa studied nursing at Selkirk College and then at the University of Victoria. She had extended family in Victoria and was always welcomed for dinner by the King/Cukovich family. It was at UVic where she met her husband-to-be Brent. Brent and Teresa married on December 30, 1978, during a power outage in Rossland with -30 C temperatures, creating wonderful memories for their 46 years of marriage.
Their first daughter Mary came along in 1980, and then Catherine two years later. Teresa loved her family very deeply, and raised them with values to get outside, eat healthy and care for loved ones and friends.
Teresa loved spending time at Christina Lake, and her birthday on July 1 (Canada Day) meant there was always a celebration bbq at the lake with family and friends.
Teresa's greatest joy was her grandchildren, Luc and Catherine, and their arrival gave her a new lease on life. She loved taking them to school in the mornings with specially made snacks, having them at her house, and cheering them on in cross-country skiing, downhill and soccer.
Many will remember running into Teresa around town and stopping for a chat. She talked with everyone, and always remembered everyone's name, their families, and how everyone in our small community was connected.
Teresa is survived by her husband Brent, her daughters Mary (Roger) and Catherine, and her grandchildren Luc and Catherine.
She is also survived by her siblings Michael, Chris and Roberta, and her nieces Julia (Steve and children Connor, Charlie, Elle and Henry), Jenny and Ellie (Hannah), and many loving extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents Mike and Catherine Delich, and her brother Donald, and was looking forward to joining them in heaven.
A Catholic Mass was held on Wednesday December 4, 2024 at the Sacred Heart Parish in Rossland, with arrangements handled by Clark's Funeral Services.
