Terry and Donuts always walked hand in hand and will again this Christmas.
Our precious mother, Teresa Picone, passed away on Dec. 8 in Victoria, just 18 days after the death of Donato, her beloved husband of nearly 65 years. Teresa is survived by her three children, Gary (Terri), Maureen and Beverly (Mike) as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren. Family was everything to Terry and she showed that love in so many ways to us and to all who knew her. She was an active member of her church, loved to challenge anyone at a game of shuffleboard, continued to bake and preserve garden and fruit tree produce. Even at the age of 96 she was still knitting for the Canada Comforts charity.
"Nana and Papa are sadly missed but we know they are together as they would have wanted."
The family requests donations to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in lieu of flowers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Trail for both Donato and Teresa. Interment at Mountainview Cemetery in Rossland will follow the Mass immediately, and a reception will occur back at the Church hall after the burial. Father Matthieu Gombo Yange OfmCap will celebrate the service
