We are saddened to announce the passing of Thomas A Lewis (Tom) of Fruitvale, British Columbia on July 9th, 2021, at the age of 76 in Trail, British Columbia. Tom passed away peacefully after a brief stay in hospital.
He is lovingly remembered by his niece Lara Halliday (Adam), nephew Michael Yasinski, grand nephews Max and Zach, brother-in-law Louis Yasinski as well as his many close cousins and friends.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Phyllis and Jule Lewis and sister Sharon Yasinski.
Tom was a friendly, kind, intelligent, generous and caring person, always thinking of others. He would always be the first to lend someone a helping hand. He was an interesting conversationalist who loved to tell stories. He could often be found outside his home on Columbia Gardens Road or the Beaver Valley Manor chatting and sharing a laugh with neighbors and fellow villagers.
Tom joined the Beaver Valley Lions in 1977 and served as secretary for many years. He was a faithful member until 2008.
Tom loved gardening, cooking, baking, watching hockey, current events, genealogy, fishing and huckleberry picking. He was a good snooker player.
A Memorial Service will be held at Trail United Church on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 11 am followed by an interment at Fruitvale Memorial Cemetery and then a reception at the Beaver Valley Manor in Fruitvale. Gwen Ziprick of Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
