October 17, 1931 - August 25, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas James Rhys Williams. Tom was born to Henrietta and Rhys Williams at the family home in Paterson. He married his long-time neighbour, Myrtle in 1956. They moved to Rossland, where he has lived ever since, and that is where they raised their three children.
Tom started working for the Department of Highways in 1951 and enjoyed his job until he retired in 1986. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, worked many years as a waiter at the Golden Nugget Saloon on Golden City Days and was a member of the Rossland Fire Department in his early years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at their trailer on Kootenay Lake. After his retirement he started to do some wood working. He was a caring, loving man and was always there to lend a hand, especially around the neighbourhood.
Tom is survived by his children; Don, Carol (Chris) and Donna (Joey), grandchildren; Justin (Ashley), Michael (Natalie), Larissa (Danno), Jordan (Brielle) and Danielle, great-grandchildren; Brooke, Riley, Megan, Sophia and Tyler, his brother-in-law Raymond Dimock (Doris), sister-in-law Elaine Williams, special friend Joyce Tait and many nieces and nephews, all who meant the world to him.
He was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife Myrtle and his brothers Bill, John and Jim.
The family would like to express our appreciation and thanks to the first responders and Cathy from Alpine Drug Mart for her caring assistance over the years.
