November 14, 2018
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Timothy Ivan Boutin after a short, but courageous, battle with cancer. Tim passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 14, 2018 at 58 years of age.

Tim was predeceased by his father, Donald. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, of 36 years, Lorraine, his two children; Kyle (Karen) and Sam (Kate) and his four grandchildren; Sophia, Addison, Emma and Violet. He will also be deeply missed by his mother, Blanche, his sisters; Dawn and Cathy, his nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Tim was born in Montreal and lived all over Canada, from the shores of Nova Scotia to the coast of British Columbia and everywhere in between.

Tim was a firefighter for 26 years and retired as a Captain with Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue. He was a devoted husband and father and loved coaching his boys' hockey and soccer. Upon retirement, his passions were being a grandpa to his girls and woodworking. You could always find him "toodling" in his shop, sitting in his captain's chair or teaching his grandchildren to swim in his new pool.

Tim had a remarkable sense of humour, and will always be remembered for his ability to have you in stitches no matter what the situation.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 commencing with a Ceremonial March at the intersection of Pine Avenue and Eldorado Street. A public service will follow in the Trail Memorial Centre Gym at 1:00 pm. The International Association of Firefighters and Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Servicestm have been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Tim's name may be made to BCPFF Burn Fund by visiting burnfund.org and clicking on donate.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family's online register at www.myalternatives.ca.
