September 9, 1936 - December 17, 2022
In loving memory ~
We are sad to announce that Victor Alonzo Morrison passed away peacefully on December 17, 2022, in Trail, B.C. After a long battle with dementia, it was time for him to go home, leaving us with memories of his gentle heart.
Born on September 9, 1936, and raised on a farm in Turo, Nova Scotia, he learned at a young age to work hard and eat everything on his supper plate.
He left the farm life as soon as he was of age to join the Air Force. In his travels across Canada and the world, he met his wife Pat (predeceased) and later had four children: Vernon, Laurie, Vicky (Andy), and Danny.
Family life kept him busy, working in various occupations for many years, but his favourite job was working with "the boys" in masonry work all over B.C. and Alberta.
His love for dancing led him to meet a new love known as Mrs. M. During this time living in the Interior of B.C.; they would often be found dancing at the local Legion. Together they started enjoying life again and could often be seen travelling, including a trip across Canada. Vic and Mrs. M would later move to the Kootenays, where he enjoyed being able to putter outside in his workshop all year round. There wasn't anything he couldn't do, and at times it was hard keeping him busy, according to Mrs. M. Although retired, he missed the work environment and kept working shutdowns to stay busy and connect with his old work buddies.
Vic enjoyed driving and sightseeing and, at times, would just jump in the truck and drive to Prince George to visit family. He would often talk about his grandkids and how proud he was listening to their life achievements.
Grandkids and then great-grandkids, it was getting harder to keep track and remember names and where they all lived. He knew his family was out there in the world and doing great things, and that's all that mattered to him.
Vic (Papa) will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Columbia View Lodge.
