Parslow: Victor (Vic)

A long-time resident of Fruitvale passed away peacefully at Columbia View Lodge on October 22, 2013. Vic was born on April 6, 1928 in Smiley, Saskatchewan.

After retiring from Cominco, he built their dream home, in which they resided in until his passing.

Vic enjoyed woodworking, photography, sketching and hunting. Vic was a wildlife enthusiast but most of all, his family brought joy to his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Gladys, his children: Gordon (Dawne) Parslow of Dawson Creek, Joan (Larry) Ritzen of Claresholm, Alan (Aldina) Parslow of Fruitvale and Vic’s grandchildren; Matthew (Tracey), Jeremy (Brandy), Carmen (Greg), Cheryl (Brendon), Ryan, Christopher and Bryana, 7 great-grandchildren; Hannah and Rowan, Kendal, Kamryn and Kynleigh, Bella and Cobus, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Alfred, sisters Ellen Blair and Chris Porter.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Fruitvale Memorial Hall with Reverend Meridyth Robertson officiating. Burial to follow at Fruitvale Memorial Cemetery. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Vic’s name to the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area to PO Box 640, Creston, BC, V0B 1G0 or to the SPCA at 7700 Hwy 3B, Trail, BC, V1R 4X2.
