It is with deep sadness that the family of Viola (Luzar) McCabe announce her passing on April 26, 2020 at the age of 93. She is predeceased by her husband John (Jack), her mother Agnes, her father John, her grandson Jason and her son-in-law Lorry.
Viola was born in Trail, attended school, business college there; then was employed by Cominco working in an office in the Warfield plant prior to marrying Jack. She was actively involved in family life. She enjoyed dancing with Jack, and their trips in motor home, fishing, skiing and golfing.
She spent the last 4 1/2 years at Rosewood Manor where she had excellent care and considered staff and caregivers her other family. Our family would like to thank everyone there for all the care they gave Mom which was much appreciated.
We would also like to thank Dr. Smith, Dr. Vance and her nurses at the Trail Hospital who attended and made her comfortable during her stay there.
Her daughters and families will have a gathering to celebrate her life after the Covid 19 crisis has passed. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with arrangements.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in memory of Viola McCabe to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC, V1R 4M1 or online at www. kbrhhealthfoundation.ca or to a local food bank.
