Melnyk, Wasel (Bill) passed away May 25, 2013 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital with his family at his side.

Bill was born April 6, 1921 in Edwand, Alberta and moved to Yellowknife where he met and married his wife Kay of 59 years, who predeceased him in October 2011, and in 1966 they moved to Fruitvale. He is survived by his daughters; Diana (Dale) Hinds of Calgary, Maxine (Don) Handley of Abbottsford, and his son Richard (Wendy) Melnyk of Fruitvale, his four grandchildren; Ryan and Amanda (Casey), Jessica (Ryan) and Kristina, and three great-grandchildren; Logan, Christian and James and his brother George Melnyk of Smokey Lake Alberta.

The family would like to thank Dr. Edge and the third floor staff of the KBRH for their care and efforts during dad’s recent illness. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

Grampa’s smile, laughter, generosity and warm hugs will be missed.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
