Zoey Danica Lafreniere, born February 17, 2011 in Trail BC, was taken away from us suddenly, on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the age of seven and a half months, with her parents by her side, at the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC.

Zoey will always be lovingly remembered by her wonderful mommy and daddy, Camille and Scott Lafreniere and big sister, Lauren (27 months) (of Fruitvale); grandparents Cliff and Teresa Thompson (of Trail), and Pat and Patty Lafeniere (of Fruitvale); great-grandparents Don and Marcella Tjader (of Fruitvale), Doreen Thompson (of Trail), Enid Scott (of Trail), and Bert and Lorraine Lafreniere (of Kaslo); Aunty Nicole Thompson and Uncle Craig Speers, cousins Kendle (10), Morgan (7) and Mason (5) (of Trail); Uncle Danny Thompson (of Ottawa) and Uncle Michael Sokalski (of Trail); and Aunty Kate Lafreniere and Uncle Sam Boutin (of Vancouver); and many loving Great Aunts, Great Uncles, Second Cousins, and Friends.

Though our twinkling star was only with us for seven and a half months, her life touched ours in a way that will be felt and remembered by us forever. She was a much loved and loving little baby, the best anyone could have ever hoped and prayed for. Zoey smiled with her entire being and filled our homes with her presence. Her beautiful, smiling blue eyes, cherub cheeks and enchanting giggle will live on forever in our hearts. Our lives are better for her having been a part of them, and our lives will never be the same without her. In her all too brief time with us, she taught us all the importance of family, love, laughter and joy. A piece of our hearts will forever and always belong to Zoey. Twinkle, twinkle, little star …

There is a special angel in heaven

That is a part of us.

It is not where we wanted her

But where god wanted her to be.

She was here but just a moment

Like a night time shooting star.

And though she is in heaven

She isn’t very far.

She touched the hearts of many

Like only an angel can do;

If only we could see her

And once more feel her touch,

But now and then I swear I feel

her presence in my arms

So we send this special message

To the heaven up above;

Please take care of our angel

And send her all our love.
