Bus passengers need a chance to sit down

What procedure should a driver follow after the public has entered his bus Should he ensure that everyone is safely seated before moving off, or just bang the bus into gear, and rattle away at will?

On Friday, July 15, I boarded a local bus. Being able bodies, I was able to sit before we became mobile. It was then that I observed a disabled man hanging on to his stick, various steps and bars, for dear life as he shook up and down. He was unable to launch himself into a nearby seat, due to legs that don’t work in the usual way.

Close by, a woman was yelling at the driver to please stop and let this gentleman sit down. A nearby Samaritan rose to assist him.
