Fernie team thanks Beaver Valley residents

Appreciation for helping hands in the Beaver Valley.

To the residents of Beaver Valley,

On December 7, 2012 our hockey team, Fernie Ghostriders, were travelling to Beaver Valley to play the Nitehawks. The roads were a little slippery and our bus had trouble getting up the hill and eventually ended up in the ditch.

On behalf of our team we would like to say thank you very much for all the people in the neighbourhood who gave us a hand that night.

There was one group that pulled our bus out of the ditch and up the hill, shovelling sand under our tires.

We loaded our pickups with our hockey equipment and gave us rides to the arena, and some of us walked. The people were offering us flashlights and rides.

It really was overwhelming the way people were willing to do anything and everything to help us out.

We really appreciate all you guys did that night to help us to the arena for our game!

Barry Wolff,

Coach/General Manager
