G’day from a former Colonial rugby player

I have just wrapped up four great weeks following the Canadian team at the 2011 Rugby World Cup here in New Zealand.

I have just wrapped up four great weeks following the Canadian team at the 2011 Rugby World Cup here in New Zealand.

Amongst the thousands of supporters were a group from the Trail Colonials Rugby Club. Unfortunately I didn’t get to meet any of them in person.

I was a founding member of the Club back in the 1960s. Teammates I remember include Craig Andrews, ex Oak Bay and longtime Selkirk man and Bill Stow our South African rep.

Yes, there was at least one Australian. So Colonials seemed the logical name for the team. I remember games in the Okanagan, Cranbrook, at WSU Pullman and in the snow at Warfield.

Would love to hear from anyone at the club or former teammates.
