In case you didn’t know it, the deadline has passed to enter the BC Seniors Games.
I have been attending these Games for a number of years and they are usually held in mid-September so the deadline for applying is mid July.
However the trick was this year was that the Games were being held mid-August, so I presumed I could register mid-June.
Wrong! The deadline was June 10, and there are “no exceptions,” I am told last Saturday.
So cancel those plans to come up to and explore the Kootenays whilst the bureaucrats shuffle the papers over the next eight weeks!
I’m not sure how many others have been caught in this paper chase but the bottom line is it’s less money coming into your local economy, much to the delight of the local paper shufflers, I guess?
And unfortunately, I have to bid Farewell to the Games because I can’t register and thus won’t be there!
I’m not glad, just so sad.
