Old bridge could ease Trail’s traffic woes

Local resident offers a potential solution to reduce the number of accidents on Victoria St.

Here’s a partial cure for Victoria St accidents: there has been enough activity on the Old Bridge since it was closed two years ago to prove it is capable of handling pedestrian and light traffic.

When the sewer line broke and was repaired a few months ago, the bridge withstood it just fine.

Open the bridge – put up a sign on each end that says, “Use at your own risk, light traffic only.”

This will reduce traffic on Victoria St. An engineer and a lawyer should be able to approve this.
