Society grateful for help with celebration

Oh behalf of the Trail Historical Society,  I would like to extend my appreciation to everyone who attended the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Trail Smoke Eaters winning the 1961 World Hockey Championship on March 12th at the Royal Theatre.

We have had nothing but great comments on the event and we are very grateful to those who purchased our raffle tickets, our vintage Smoke Eater memorabilia and filled the theatre to capacity.

The players, family and guests were very pleased with the turnout and how the audience expressed their appreciation for the team’s achievements in Europe 50 years ago.

I know they would like to thank everyone who attended.  I think they will remember the day forever.

I would also like to thank our sponsors of the event, Teck, Trail Times, KBS and the City of Trail.  Your support was overwhelming and we could not have done it without you.

To all our volunteers, a special thank you and to the Royal Theatre, our thanks for allowing us to invade the theatre for this community event.

Finally, thank you to the players  of the 1961 Trail Smoke Eaters for the legacy they have left our young hockey players and the community.  Your contribution to the City of Trail has not gone unnoticed and is very much appreciated.
