School’s out again in Trail

Job action continues on Monday at School District 20 schools

The B.C. Teachers’ Federation has notified school districts it will continue rotating strikes around the province next week, as negotiations continue to settle their long-running dispute over pay and staffing levels.

In a letter to parents, Greg Luterbach, superintendent for School District 20, informed them that schools will be closed on Monday.

He stated in the letter that schools will be “physically open” but for safety reasons he was requesting that parents keep children at home on that. School buses will not be running.

He added that the shortened day schedule would continue when classes resume on Tuesday.
