The ladies came out shooting at Kootenay Savings Super League action on Thursday at the Trail Curling Club.

The Maglio Ladies team took on the league-leading Rob Ferguson rink. Making shot after shot, the determined women set the Ferguson rink back on its heals and had them in trouble throughout the game but the men’s rink pulled it together by the 10th end to squeak out a 9-8 win.

The Morehouse rink took on a Desiree Schmidt rink that had two spares curling. Morehouse started off strong but the Schmidt rink came back even stronger pulling out a 7-5 win to end the game in seven ends.

A game between the Ken Fines rink and 5-N Plus started out great early but as ice got tricky both teams struggled. It wasn’t until the eighth end, when 5-N skip Don Freschi made a nice shot to seal a 10-5 victory.

The Magio Men’s rink skipped by Russ Beauchamp stole the first end against West Kootenay Mechanical’s Myron Nichol rink. But the WKM rink came back with four singles and a steal of two through the next five ends.

Maglio’s came on strong in the late ends with a single and then stole three points. Still Nichol was up one coming home with the hammer and Beauchamp had to make a triple to stay in contention, but his rock slid wide and WKM got the 9-5 win.

Super League resumes Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Trail Curling Club.
