All Stars lose to hosts at provincials

The Trail Major Little League All Stars fell 8-3 to the host South Vancouver at the B.C. Little League championships on Wednesday.

The team saw its hopes of a playoff spot vanish as the loss dropped the team to a record of 1-4 at the provincials.

Trail held a 3-1 lead after the second inning thanks to runs scored by Will Doerksen, Darrin Issel and Sam Elwood.

However, the host team regrouped to score two runs in the third to tie the game then took the lead with five runs in the fourth.

The All Stars have today off before wrapping up round robin play on Friday against White Rock.

White Rock sits on top of the standings with a perfect 4-0 record after defeating Little Mountain 8-0 Wednesday night.

The loss dropped Little Mountain into second place with a 3-1 record.
