Boyce named MVP

Former Nitehawk named all-American

A Fruitvale man capped a brilliant university hockey career by taking top honours in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

Kris Boyce plays for Eastern Washington University Eagles Div. 2 hockey team out of  Cheney, Wa.

Last week the league named Boyce  the West Region MVP, the first Eagle to win the honour.

The skilled right winger was also named to the first all-star team and a second team All American.

Boyce netted 27 goals and 23 assists in 35 games this season, finishing second in team scoring, his most productive campaign since joining the team in 2006.

The former Nitehawk also played in the BC Junior Hockey League with the Cowichan Valley Capitals.
