Cullen Bradshaw nets player of the week: BCHL

Trail Smoke Eaters forward Cullen Bradshaw has been named the British Columbia Hockey League Player of the Week for the week ending January 16, the league announced Monday.

The Medicine Hat, Alta., native was named first star in each of the Smokies’ three road wins last week and picked up nine points in that span. He began the week with two goals and three assists against the Quesnel Millionaires and finished up with three goals and six assists overall.

Bradshaw is tied for second on the team in scoring with 26 goals and 27 assists on the season, which puts him 16th in the BCHL.

This is the second time Bradshaw has garnered the honour this season, also having claimed it in November.

Honourable mentions this week go to Powell River Kings forward Chad Niddery (two games, five goals, one assist, two first stars), Penticton forward Brendan O’Donnell (two games, two goals, four assists, one first star) and Surrey forward Brad McGowan (three games, three goals, three assists, one first star, one second star).
