Divers deliver in North Van

The small but talented Trail Stingrays diving team made a huge splash at the North Vancouver Cruisers Competition held at the UBC Aquatic Facility last week.

The small but talented Trail Stingrays diving team made a huge splash at the North Vancouver Cruisers Competition held at the UBC Aquatic Facility last week.

“Everybody did great,” said Stingrays coach and diver Joanna Linardis. “We had five people dove and there were 10 medals, so six gold and four silver. It was fun.”

Linardis captured gold in the over-20 division on both the one metre, 232.25 points, and three-metre boards, 288.30.

In the 15-and16-year-old division, Paul MacLean also won gold on the one metre, 198.88 points and three metre, 217.45. In the same division, Joseph French grabbed silver in the one- and three-metre boards.

Chris Tremblay took home gold in the three metre, 235.85, and silver in the one metre 235.05 in the 13 and 14 group while Andrew Sibbald won gold in the three metre, 88.90 and placed second in the one metre.
