Gawryletz’s status unclear for Game 1

The Lake Erie Monsters will be making their first-ever appearance in the American Hockey League playoffs but they might be doing it without the services of Travis Gawryletz.

The Monsters face the Manitoba Moose in Game 1 of their AHL series on Saturday in Cleveland.

It will mark the first ever playoff appearance in the Monsters’ four-year history.

Gawryletz’s status remains up in the air as he recovers from a sports hernia that sidelined him in the final games of the season.

He was back skating with the team for the first time this week but his status for Saturday’s game has yet to be determined.
