Gym club at zones

Trail Gymnastics Club had an excellent showing at the recent Kootenay Zone 1 Championships.

Trail Gymnastics Club had an excellent showing at the recent Kootenay Zone 1 Championships which were hosted by Glacier Gymnastics Club in Nelson on May 4 and 5.

The club had five gymnasts compete in the Provincial level 1 category.

In the Argo age category (gymnasts born in 2004 and 2005), Rachel Limbert placed fifth on vault,  fifth on bars, third on beam , fourth on floor, and third all around.

In the Tyro age category (gymnasts born in 2002) Paulina Seib came seventh on vault, second on bars, eighth on beam, tied for seventh on floor and placed seventh all around.

In the second Tyro age category (gymnasts born in 2001) Danielle Stein tied for seventh on vault, tied for sixth on bars, tied for eighth on beam, placed seventh on floor, and placed ninth all around.

Piper Brown placed fourth on vault, seventh on bars, seventh on beam, fifth on floor and came fifth all around.

Reigha Wyatt tied for seventh on vault, tied for second on bars, sixth on bars, fourth on floor, and came third all around.

The team combined for the fifth place Team Award as well.

The coaches are very proud of the girls for all their hard work and dedication. This is the first year for all the girls competing in the Provincial stream as they all competed in the Recreational stream last year. The team is off to Kimberley on May 25 for the Coconut Cup and then to Kelowna the following weekend for the Ogopogo Invitational.
