In KIJHL action, the Beaver Valley Nitehawks begin their playoff run against the Spokane Braves Friday and Saturday at the Beaver Valley Arena. The Hawks have had their way with the Braves, winning all eight of their regular season matches and look to sweep in the first round of the playoff.

The Trail Smoke Eaters depart on a three game road trip this week with a chance to end history - so to speak.

The Smokies can halt the Penticton Vees record setting winning streak at 34 with a win in Penticton tonight. After dropping a pair of games last week, the Trail side will play Merritt Friday and meet a beatable Westside Warrior team on Saturday.

The Selkirk College Saints meanwhile played their final series of the season this past weekend. The Saints earned a split with the Thompson River University Wolfpack, taking the first game 6-4 before losing 9-3 on Sunday.

The Saints Jordan Wood had a hat trick in Friday night’s win. He was also up for player of the week, but former Trail Smoke Eater Patrik Martin received the honour. Martin led the Okanagan College Coyotes to wins over the Wolfpack and SFU last week.
