Masters Winter Swim Club: Swimmer sweeps age group

Local swimmer blows competition out of the water at Vancouver competition.

Kelly Geisheimer from the Masters Division of the Trail Winter Swim Club (TWSC) sank the competition at the English Bay Swim Club’s “Love to Swim” meet last month in Vancouver.

The Rossland swimmer entered the 100, 200, 400, and 1,500 metre freestyle races all in one day, winning her age group in every event.

Geisheimer clocked the fastest times overall in the 200, 400, and 1,500 women’s.

Her 1,500 meter time was also the fastest out of the men’s times as well.

Geisheimer set personal bests in three of her swims slashing 10 seconds off her 400 time, three seconds off her 200 and 27 seconds off her 1,500.

The TWSC consists of Masters and Triathlon divisions for those that want to hone their swimming skills or prepare for more challenging events or swim in the competetive division in the Greater Trail Swim Club (GTSC). For more information email trailwsc@gmail.com
