The Morehouse rink continues to roll in Kootenay Savings Super League play on Thursday.

Brad Morehouse and his young men’s team from Castlegar curled with precision and control as they brushed their way to an impressive 9-5 win over the Maglio Men’s team skipped by Russ Beauchamp. Consecutive steals of two points was the difference in this game.

Rob Ferguson and his Men’s squad from Trail had a nail biter of a game with Desiree Schmidt and her Ladies rink from Fruitvale.

With the game tied at five in the final end, Ferguson played a run-back, to remove Schmidt’s rock on the button to preserve the 6-5 win.

Fred Thomson and his 5-N Plus rink beat the Maglio Ladies squad 8-6. The Ladies team skipped by Rose Beauchamp would not go down easily though, as they put up a tenacious fight against a very strong side.

Thomson with third Don Freschi and second Rob Norbert made up three-quarters of the Provincial Brier team, just six years ago.

Myron Nichol and his foursome from Castlegar also remained undefeated as they overtook Ken Fines 8-6. Nichol took charge with a big four ender in the sixth frame, to gain control of a game that they were trailing.

Kootenay Savings Super League resumes Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Trail Curling Club.
