Rebels deal Ross

The Castlegar Rebels completed a three-team trade in the KIJHL earlier this week.

The trade sent goaltender Alex Ross, a Montrose native, to the Summerland Steam in a deal where the Osoyoos Coyotes sent netminder Jordan Gluck to the Rebels.

Gluck posted 6 victories in 11 appearances with a 2.86 GAA. The 19-year-old started for the Coyotes when they visited the Castlegar Rec Complex last month and delivered a solid 38-save performance in an Osoyoos victory.

Ross played two-and-a-half seasons with Castlegar and was named the 2011 Neil Murdoch division goaltender of the year.

Rebels coach Steve Junker told the Rebels Insider that the trade “gives Alex a new opportunity that the change in scenery often brings.”

In 41 games with the Rebels, he posted a 27-9 record, and a sparkling 2.58 GAA and .905 save percentage.
