Rink steals end to stay perfect

Only one team remains undefeated in Kootenay Savings Super League play from last week.

Only one team remains undefeated in Kootenay Savings Super League play from last week.

Brad Morehouse and his young guns from Castlegar are undefeated through four weeks after stealing a game from the Ken Fines  rink Thursday at the Trail Curling Club.

Both teams fought hard, and were tied at six going into the last end, with Fines holding the hammer. His last draw was just a little heavy, and Morehouse escaped with the 7-6 victory. Desiree Schmidt and her Ladies rink from Beaver Valley continue to improve and build confidence. This time the ladies knocked off the unbeaten Myron Nichol team 10-4. Schmidt used a big five-ender in the sixth frame to take control.

Russ and Rose Beauchamp led their respective Men’s and Ladies’ Maglio teams into battle. Russ may have to do some of his own cooking at home, as they tripped up the Ladies foursome 8-2.

Rob Ferguson and his Men’s rink from Trail, were not good hosts as they beat 5N-Plus, skipped by Fred Thomson from Nelson, 12-4. Ferguson stole five in the eighth end to force an early finish to this game.

Kootenay Savings Super League resumes Thursday night, 7 p.m. at the Trail Curling Club.
