Close to 270 runners and walkers participated in the annual Silver City Days Fun Run at Gyro Park on Sunday, led by Graham Cocksedge who set a new record in the annual event.

Cocksedge ran the 10-kilometre run in 34.25 seconds to beat the previous best by more than a second. It was the Powell River native's first Fun Run, and while he doesn't train as much as he used to when he ran for the UVic and national team, he says he still thrives on competing although more for fun than purpose.

Trail's Jen Johnson won the women's 10K in a time of 47:47, while Mike Zahn won the 5K run for the fourth or fifth time, and Alexandria Masse of Winlaw won her first 5K women's run.

Celgar won the corporate challenge this year thanks to all the family members that participated.

See Tuesday's edition of the Trail Times for results.
