Stingrays make another big splash

The Trail Stingrays swam to first place for the second straight weekend as they dove into Creston for the Wave’s annual swim meet.

Swimmers set 31 individual records and 10 relay records to cement the team’s position atop the podium.

Jennifer Chung led the way with seven individual records, while Eden Kormendy and Jerome Santiago each set five new marks.  Christine Cook and Dylan Kormendy also flew through the pool setting records in four events.

Aggregate gold medal winners include Dylan Kormendy, Div.1, Kayla Fraser Div. 2, Eden Kormendy Div. 3, Jerome Santiago, Div. 4, Jennifer Chung Div. 5, and Christine Cook Div. 7. Silver went to Jovan Santago, Div. 3, Martin Gonzalez Div. 4, Madison Green Div. 5, Oleg Liferovich Div. 6, and Ryan Gurney Div. 8. Bronze winners are Ian Markus Div. 2, Tess Markus Div. 3, Cassidy Martin Div. 5, Eric Gonzalez Div. 6 and Anne Marino Div.7.

2nd place - Castlegar Aquanauts - 573 points

3rd place - Kimberley Seahorses - 395 points

4th place - Creston Wave - 323 points

5th place - Nelson Neptunes - 222 points

6th place - Grand Forks Piranhas - 169 points

7th place - Colville Sharks - 80 points
