The Trail U15 Orioles improved their record in the Washington American Legion league over the weekend taking three of four games in a pair of doubleheaders.
The U15 Orioles came out swinging in their first game against Medical Lake on Saturday at Jason Bay Field at Butler Park in Trail.
They beat the visitors 16-6, with the 10-run mercy rule coming into effect. However, the O’s were up against a stronger pitcher in Game 2, and lost 12-6 to Medical Lake, who is currently holding down third place in the Area 3 ‘A’ Division.
In Game 3 on Sunday, the U15 Orioles pounded out 18 runs for a 10-run walk off 18-8 victory over Mt. Spokane in the bottom of seven.
The U15 Orioles continued to roll in the second match, winning 15-5 to keep them in fourth place, a half-game back of Medical Lake.
With the wins, the Orioles improved their record to 11-5 and are one game out of first place.
Trail will play a big two-game series against second place Northern Lakes at Butler Park on Thursday (July 6) with the first game going at 2 p.m. and the second at 4 p.m.
They will then travel to Kettle Falls for a doublebill on Saturday to wrap up the regular season schedule.
