Trail baseball hurler leads Wolfpack

Pitcher Cam Strachan of Trail shuts down Calgary Dinos.

Pitcher Cam Strachan of Trail led the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack baseball team to a two-game sweep of Canadian College Baseball Conference rivals last week and extended their winning streak to four games.

The Pack closed the gap between themselves and the front-running Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs in the Chris Reitsma Division to two games.

Strachan tossed seven innings of six hit ball, giving up two walks and striking out six as the WolfPack beat the University of Calgary Dinosaurs 9-3.

The Pack went up early, scoring two runs in the first, and again in the fourth, sixth and ninth innings. The left-hander got the win and pushed his season record to 3 and 1.

After beating the Dinos, the Pack also thumped the host Dawgs 8-3, giving Thompson Rivers a season record of 10 and 8, two games back of the Dawgs.
