Trail Little League: Major All-Stars play tune up today

The Trail Major Little League All-Star team is finishing off an impressive string of victories.

The Trail Major Little League All-Star team is finishing off an impressive string of victories with a pair of exhibition games today at Andy Bilesky Park, as it prepares to host the B.C. Little League provincial championship.

The All Stars are coming off back-to-back tournament wins in Pullman on the weekend and Kalispell the week before, and have won 14 games in a row and are 16-2 since forming in mid-June.

The All Stars won the title by going 4-0 in the round robin and beating a strong Pasco squad 9-2 in the final.

Trail plays Bonners Ferry today at Andy Bilesky Park at noon and 2 p.m. for a final tune up  before the provincial tournament.

The team is peaking at the right time as Trail hosts the provincial championship with teams arriving on Friday for the opening banquet and games starting on Saturday.

The All Stars first match goes at 1:30 p.m. following the opening ceremonies at 12:30 p.m.

Minor League notes: At the Minor Little League provincials, after opening with a 11-7 win against Mt. Seymour Saturday, the Trail All Star minors lost 15-5 to West Van.
