Turkey Shoot set for Casino

West Kootenay Marksmen locked and loaded for holiday shoot.

The West Kootenay Marksmen are ringing in the holidays with their annual Turkey Shoot on Sunday at the Casino Range.

The public is invited to participate, as the range will be set up with targets for all ages.

The WKM will provide club pistols and rifles for those without firearms, but shooters must bring ear and eye protection.

“There are some very strict rules, because safety is of very high concern,” said Marksmen Bill Bradshaw.

Members will monitor shooters and their handling of the .22 caliber firearms to ensure safety.

But the event is all about fun, shooting and taking aim at some tasty prizes.

The range also provides generous targets with templates for people who don’t shoot well. and don’t know whether  hit the bull’s eye until you turn the target over, says Bradshaw.

“It’s fun for the kids.”

Casino Range opens at 9 a.m. Admission is $10 and includes lunch, shooting and a chance at prizes.
