More than 100 people rallied near the J.L. Crowe Secondary School grounds Friday, in support of teachers and to protest the lack of progress in the ongoing dispute between the B.C. Teachers' Federation and the provincial government. Andy Davidoff, Kootenay Columbia Teachers' Union president gave an impassioned speech to the crowd of students, parents, grandparents and local officials. “Turning up the Heat for Public Education” was also planned at Fruitvale Elementary School that afternoon.
