Salmo RCMP would like to advise people that area residents have received phone calls, letters and emails from individuals stating they are from Canada Revenue asking for money that is owing.
Never give out personal information to anybody as these are scams.
On the Canada Revenue website it discusses how to protect yourself from these scams, below is a quote directly from their website and their email address: “Fraudulent emails and phone calls - Protect yourself!
The CRA is warning Canadians that fraudulent emails and phone calls purporting to be from the Agency are currently being reported. Find out more about these scams and learn how you can protect yourself."
