It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and nonna, Clara Liberatore. After a courageous battle with cancer Clara passed away peacefully on December 15th, 2013.

She was loved and will be greatly missed by her husband Fernando of almost 55 years. She will live on in the hearts of her children; Valerio, Pina (Bruce) Mara (Paul) and 4 grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Angelina, Roberto and Nicolas, in-laws Ezio & Maria Liberatore and family. Predeceased by her parents, Gemma and Cesare, and brother Antonio Restaino.

Of all Moms’ accomplishments, she was most proud of her family. She grew up in an Italian family where there was always room for one more at the table. She brought that love of generosity with her throughout her life, along with her pleasure of cooking and her joy of children, sewing and exercising daily. Clara was born in Raiano, Italy. She met and married the love of her life Fernando in 1958. Soon after they moved to Trail, BC where they raised their 3 children. Many happy times and memories were shared by all. Besides raising her family, mom also worked at Cominco for 20 years. In 1997, they moved to Victoria, BC where they enjoyed many more family times with their grandchildren. Our sincere thanks go to the medical personnel who provided wonderful support.

Prayer Services to be held at 7pm Fri, December 20th followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church at 11 am on Sat. Dec. 21st with Father William Hahn Celebrant. Bill of CARE funeral home has been entrusted with arrangements. Interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial.
