It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved Mama and Nonna. Carmela was born in
Grimaldi, Italy to Guiseppe and Teresa Bifano. She was pre-deceased by her husband of almost 57 years - Sam and by her parents, and brother Ralph Bifano. She leaves behind her sons Bruno, Joe (Nicky), and her incredibly loved grandchildren Tomas, Lisa, Alicia, Amanda and Mikaila. Carmela also leaves brothers Tony (Vancouver), and Pasquale (Italy) and their families. Carmela is also mourned by many extended family members and friends in Trail, Vancouver, other parts of Canada and in Italy.
Mama was ALWAYS busy working for her family and friends, whether it was cooking, baking, sewing or knitting. She was well loved in Trail for always helping out in any way. Mama was devout, kind, funny, caring and so hard working. We will miss her forever.
Our family would like to thank the many neighbours, friends, and family who helped “watch over” our Mama. We would especially like to mention Sandra Wood, the Ferraro family, Johnny and Irene Gallo, Rosa Malito and our special angel - Debbie Wood and her husband Rob Brown. More recently, we are indebted to the incredible staffs at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital and Columbia View Lodge.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 10:30 am followed by burial at Mountain View Cemetery with Father Bart van Roijen, Celebrant. Jordan Wren of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
