Police were called to a two-vehicle head-on collision Sunday near the McKelvey Creek Regional Landfill in Trail.
An investigation based on eyewitness accounts revealed that an eastbound car in the slow lane on Highway 3B drifted over to the fast lane and then into oncoming traffic, striking a westbound vehicle at nearly 3:30 p.m.
“Each vehicle contained a driver only and both drivers were taken to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital,” explained Trail RCMP Cpl. Dave Johnson in a news release. “One driver remains in the hospital at this time and progress (is) being monitored.”
Trail RCMP is currently investigating the causes of this accident, with assistance from the West Kootenay Traffic Services.
