A fairly good crowd was on hand braving threatening skies Saturday but no rain fell to dampen the enthusiasm for the annual Beaver Valley May Days parade and celebration at Haines Park. The parade featured approximately two dozen floats and lasted almost half an hour. Haines park was a busy site as festival goers enjoyed kids baseball games and adult slow pitch on the fields and also had the opportunity to sample the wares of a number of food vendors, festival gardens, and local crafts people. Reservations were necessary because of the demand for the train rides out to view Beaver Falls, with the adults apparently enjoying the experience as much as the children.
