Families hunting for a fun time this Easter weekend will have plenty of opportunities to uncover treats and shop for goodies.

In Fruitvale at the memorial park (formerly Haines Park), the Fruitvale Fire Fighters Society is hosting their 14th Annual Beaver Valley Easter Egg Hunt starting at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29. According to a firefighters’ Facebook post, there will be 8,000 chocolate eggs covering three fields for three different age categories: three and under, four-to-seven, and eight-to-twelve.

Saturday, March 30, an Easter Egg-Stravaganza will roll out at Waneta Plaza, in Trail, starting with photos with the Easter Bunny at 8:45 a.m.

The Easter Egg Hunt starts at 9:30 a.m. sharp.

Also in the mall that day is a special Easter Market.

Vendors from Trail’s incrEDIBLE Farmers Market will be set up in the old Zellers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., selling make-bake-grow goods, offering family-fun activities, and live music.

“Bring the whole family for a day filled with egg-citing activities, delightful live music, and a showcase of incredible local vendors,” market vendors entice.

“Discover unique treasures and delicious treats … from handmade crafts to delectable goodies, there’s something for everyone.”

Also on Saturday, the Rossland museum is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at 10:30 a.m., then at 11:30 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

There will also be a full day of family-friendly crafts and activities, plus a “Recollections” presentation from Gord Lepage, a longtime Red Mountain ski patrol volunteer.

Entry is by donation.
