Molly and John Palmason have created a perfect retreat in their Tadanac home.

The picturesque and immaculate house sitting at the end of Kootenay Ave in Tadanac is home to Molly and John Palmason.

Winners of the Patio contest, the couple are being honoured for the work surrounding their beautiful 1920’s house.

The pair moved to the Trail area in 1979, and have been hard at work in the yard ever since. Their combined talents have turned their home into a breathtaking garden oasis.

The couple insist that the work is something they love doing.

“It’s very rewarding for us. We work together; I design and my husband puts it all together,” says Molly.

The patio, constructed by the Palmasons, is a spacious retreat surrounded by walls of flowers and trees. Almost everything, from the evergreens to the perennials, has been planted by the husband and wife.

Plenty of flowers are seen around the home, either shooting up from the ground, or hanging in pots.

The yard still maintains large areas of lush green lawn, perfect for their ten grand-children to play in.

Having grown up in England, Molly knows what green, garden-filled cities look like. She says that Trail has done an outstanding job.

“It’s excellent. It has picked up the whole city, especially downtown; it’s great for the whole community.”
