Rossland’s Ladies Auxiliary made the holiday season a lot brighter for four local groups.

The Ladies Auxiliary supports the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 14 in Rossland by making and selling meat pies to the community and putting on banquets for different organizations.

They Ladies Auxiliary also prepares food for funerals which are often held in the Legion, where they have a kitchen and dining hall in the basement.

“Like so many other volunteer organizations, the Legion and Ladies Auxiliary are struggling to attract new members to continue their good work, so we like to show people what we do for the community,” said Ladies Auxillary member Sharon Lussier.

This Christmas, the Ladies Auxiliary presented $500 to Paul Boyd from the Rossland Food Bank, and $500 to the Rossland Arena Society. Earlier, they gave the Legion Branch 14 a cheque for $8,000, and $500 to the Trail Cadets.
