The Kiss Monster tour 2013 will make a concert stop in Kelowna on Monday, July 8, at Prospera Place.

January of this year marked the 40th anniversary of KISS. The band was the creation of Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, who joined up with drummer Peter Criss and Ace Frehley to form a group that sold millions of records in the years that followed.
Over time, Criss and Frehley left the band, replaced today by Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer.
But Simmons and Stanley have been the constant icons with a band that has racked up 28 U.S. gold albums and sold more than 100 million units worldwide.
"We're a real, flesh and blood rock and roll band withpeople who've spent 40 years doing what we believe in,” says Stanley.
The Monster name for the tour reflects the name for the new KISS album to be released in October.
For Simmons, the mastermind of the KISS multi-million merchandising empire, he hopes the tour will give the loyal KISS army of band followers a chance to rejoice once again.
"The KISS army is ruthless,” said Simmons, who has marketed his own brand and through him the KISS name through the reality show Family Jewels which documents the life of he and his wife, actress Shannon Tweed, and their two kids.
“They’d skewer us if we put out records that weren’t great. We pushed ourselves on this album, to make not just ourselves but our fans proud. We try to hit a home run every swing we take. If we’re going to win, win big.”
