A day of family entertainment and Christmas cheer returns to Rossland this Saturday.

The 18th annual Rekindle the Spirit of Christmas event is presented by the Rossland Chamber of Commerce.

The all-day festivity includes Christmas activities, a cheery atmosphere as well as great shopping bargains.

New to the event this year is the addition of an Outdoor Winter Market from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“I wanted to make our event more festive” said Renee Clark, executive director of the Rossland Chamber of Commerce.

The market will include different venders set up along Queen Street selling raffles, roasted chestnuts, and baked goods.

There will also be local artisans selling their work.

“People need to shop local and support our businesses,” stressed Clark.

Santa will be making multiple appearances first at 1:30 p.m. in front of the Rossland Public Library.

Following this appearance watch as Saint Nick joins his reindeer in the holiday parade beginning at 2:30 p.m. and ending in front of Jelly Bean Junction for a photo opportunity.

At 4:30 p.m. the lighting of the Christmas tree will take place in Harry LeFevre Square, where Santa will make another appearance.

All day Rossland’s downtown will be bustling with roaming carolers and stores with shopping deals.
