My name is Jennifer Williams and I run a group called Adopt a Senior Trail and Area.
What our group does is sponsor seniors in the area and donate a gift for the holidays.
Some seniors have no family in the area or no family at all.
Some live out in the community, but most live in care facilities.
This is my third year running this group and without the help from others like you, this project does not work.
Bounce Radio as well as The Trail Times have been kind enough to help spread the word.
What I am hoping is that you would like to participate in our Christmas campaign.
One option is to do a monetary donation in which a receipt will be given and a volunteer will purchase items; or, you can donate items that can be used in the gifts we give.
Another option is to go to our Facebook page and pick a senior to adopt.
A $50 limit is allotted per senior and you shop for them from our list.
Donations are anonymous on the senior side of things (due to confidentiality), but let me say what joy this brings to these lovely seniors.
Last year we purchased items for seniors at Rose Wood Village, Poplar Ridge, Columbia View Lodge and in the community.
Some 400+ gifts were given out.
It would be wonderful to have your support.
All donations must be in no later than Dec. 1 in order to properly organize and disperse.
