Coroner releases identity of Warfield crash victim

BC Coroners Service has identified the man driving the truck as Frederick Wilkinson, of Cornwall, Ontario.

The BC Coroners Service has released the name of the driver of the truck which crashed shortly after noon May 3 after loosing control at the bottom of the Rossland hill in Warfield.

The Coroner reports that the driver and sole occupant of the truck was 52 year old Frederick Wilkinson, of Cornwall, Ontario.

The RCMP have concluded that the fully loaded commercial semi trailer unit suffered a mechanical failure when it lost its brakes while descending Highway 3B between Rossland and Trail and rolled near the intersection of the highway and Tennyson Avenue in Warfield, killing the driver.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
