Downtown group seeking public input

Open house meeting scheduled for Monday

Consultants hired to complete a downtown revitalization plan are asking for community input next week.

MMM Group Limited, hired to complete an $85,000 downtown study, will host an open house Monday, where the city’s Downtown Opportunities and Action Committee will consider public feedback.

“It is intended to provide the business community as a whole and any interested community members with an opportunity to learn more about downtown revitalization efforts and to provide input into the planning process that is now underway,” said city administrator Michelle McIsaac.

“The consultants are working on the development of a downtown plan that will guide future decision making, so we hope that business owners and citizens will come out and participate in this public workshop.”

While the committee previously held a priority-setting workshop, that session only involved its members and this public session will gather input from a wider scope.

The workshop will be held Monday from 6-8 p.m. in the Trail Memorial Centre’s gymnasium.
