A Fruitvale resident died over the weekend while moored at the Kaslo Marina.
RCMP received a report of a missing male on Sunday morning and believe that Heath Duclos, 40, fell into the water during the early hours of the morning and drowned.
According to the RCMP release, Duclos had gotten up during the night to go to the bathroom and never returned. He and his father were at the marina.
A recreational diver searched the underwater area around the boat on Sunday, discovering the missing man off the stern in about 40 feet of water.
The investigation is ongoing but foul play is not suspected; RCMP were not able to say if alcohol was a factor.
